OTHER ORE
Everyday Luxe Demi-Fine Jewelry that is Distinct. Different. Other. You.

Meet The Founder
For Sheryl Maloney, creativity has always been about working with her hands. As a little girl growing up In Michigan, she spent hours in her dad’s basement workshop, feeding logs into the tiny wood stove while watching him meticulously refurbish vintage golf clubs and handcraft new ones. There, she learned how to work with metal, use tools with precision, and appreciate the artistry of fine craftsmanship.
Years later, after a career in tech and sportswear, Sheryl found herself searching for a tactile, hands-on way to channel her creative energy. At the height of the pandemic, somewhere between endless corporate Zoom calls, she rediscovered the the zen of craftmanship, that her dad Instilled In her, and started making jewelry. Now, in a twist of irony that isn’t lost on her, she spends her days in her own basement studio in Portland, Oregon, handcrafting pieces that blend intricacy, edge, and everyday wearability.
What started as a personal creative outlet quickly turned into Other Ore, an everyday luxe demi-fine jewelry brand designed to empower self-expression. Today, Sheryl designs, assembles, and photographs every piece, ensuring that Other Ore stays true to its mission, modern, wearable jewelry that’s as bold, intricate, and unique as the people who wear it. Because jewelry should reflect you, not define you.
Brand Identity
What's the Deal with Those Pellets?
Fun fact: "Ore" in Other Ore isn’t about Oregon—it’s a nod to the iron ore mining town in Michigan where our founder grew up. Those bluish-purple pellets you see in our branding? They’re real iron ore pellets, the same kind that used to tumble off mining train cars and land between the railroad ties. As a kid, she’d collect them like treasure, convinced she was striking it rich. A big dreamer then and now.
And the "Other"? That’s about being different, standing out, embracing your own kind of cool. Her mom always told her she was one-of-a kind, and she thinks you are too. Other Ore is for those who don’t care to blend in, because your jewelry should reflect just how rare and remarkable you are.
